today is friday, thirteen. Can I say something?
Superstitions are ALL lies. :D Thankfully :)
And you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free. Yep. Coming to the knowledge of biblical truth has been a liberation in many ways. Its a liberation from the fear of superstitions, its a liberation from the fear of 'ghosts' even. There's no need to fear. I am a child of God *proud*
As I said, superstitions are all lies. There's no need to fear that bad luck will fall on you just because..eh... a black cat walked over. I know that God is the ultimate author and creator of everything. He is ALWAYS in control. So He is the one who is in control of everything that happens to you. And we have a good who works ALL things for good for those who love Him? Even when bad things happened, God has His ways of bringing good out of it. If we trust Him, we learn to bless and not to curse. Jesus have lifted the curse of sin on us on the cross.
There is no need to do certain things to gain luck either, really. When you walk with God you learn to give up what used to be important to you, and you learn to live for what is important to Him. And if your purpose is , always, for a God who is in control of everything, why is there a need for 'luck'? Why would God not be your aid for to bring Him glory? Though He works in ways we cannot understand, we know that this is a God who loves and blesses, and this is the God by which I stand and pledge allegiance to :)
There is no need to fear spirits. Every evil spirit trembles at His name. Know the name of 'Jesus'. The power contained in this name is more than what we can ever imagine. Spiritual warfare is about prayer and it is about worship. Steal not the glory away from God. Let your understanding of who He is deepen. And when we could come to understand even just a glimpse of who God is, it is impossible not to worship Him.
I see... I know... Christians being superstitious and all...I guess they are just not fully comprehending what Christ has done for them. I am a child of God. I have so much authority in Christ! I bind the powers of darkness in His name. That is the authority I should exercise, that is the authority we should exercise, servants of God's kingdom?
I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ to shine His light, not by our own strength but His. If we don't shine His light and live in liberation, how can others be drawn to seek this light that exist?
Actually I can only really preach this here. Its not like when people start talking about ghost and superstitions I can come in and preach of God's truth. I don't know how to.
